If everyone pretty much knows that one of the most powerful ways to achieve anything worthwhile is to set goals, then why do so few people do it?

And why do so few that set goals STILL not achieve them?  I believe some of the reasons are that they:

  • Set Goals that are too hard.
  • Set goals that are too easy.
  • They are too lazy (yep I said it.)
  • Their goals don’t inspire them.
  • Their goals are really not their own.
  • They don’t really want the goal.

I’ll get into those thoughts in later posts.  But for now, I wanted to invite you on a 100 Day Journey.  One in which you get to ride along with me as I take on a 100 Day Challenge.

A challenge where I take on Five Goals over the next 100 Days under the guidance of Gary Ryan Blair.

You’ll get to experience what I experience.  Feel what I feel.  Feel what others doing the challenge feel.  And, more importantly, feel what you feel.

Setting and achieving goals is NOT easy.  If they were everyone would be doing it.  In fact, one of the main reasons people don’t achieve the things they say they want is that it is easier NOT to do it.  And, unfortunately, our society is more focused on being “comfortable” than having what they say they want.

Throughout this Blog, I will post MY thoughts, feelings, emotions and down right attitude about things in the world.

Some of you will not like what I have to say.  So what?  I’m not here to make friends.  I’m here to make a difference.  I invite you to comment responsibly on any of my posts.

With that…  Let’s start our Journey!

Can anyone list the goals of the Chinese boxer rebellion in 1900s? Specific Goals, list them please. Thanks!

Main goal was to drive the Europeans out of China, and maintain Chinese influence from European power. Another aim was to strengthen Chinese government by trying to overthrow declining Chinese dynasty. Although numerous Chinese revolt worked initially, the European powers regrouped and organized into effective war machine that hunted down the rebels.

I’m applying for a scholarship for school and the personal essay asks to describe my academic Goals and career aspirations. Whats the difference between the two? Is academic goals what I plan to do now while in college, such as attending class everyday, while my career aspirations is what I want to do in the long run, such as run my own business? I just want to make sure I have the concept correct, it would be great to receive the scholarship. Thank you for your help.

academic goals would describe what you want to acomplish in school, career aspirations would describe what you would like to accomplish work-wise.

Barça has gone on a goal rampage again, this time the victims were Malaga, who was already behind 4-0 at half time. Xavi, Messi, Henry, Etoo (2) and Alves have been the scorers, and the league leaders hold on to their six-point advantage.

The match lasted 90 minutes but it was already over at half-time, when it was already 4-0, or even before then. The message given out by Barça even when it was still 0-0 was one of impending doom for Malaga, and it turned out to be a one-man-show as Barça proceeded to totally overrun a stunned Malaga.

It was also a festival of goals, with Xavi, Messi, Henry, Etoo (2) and Alves showing their talent in a great all-round display by the team. With this result, FC Barcelona arrives at the short break in the league holding on to their six-point advantage over Real Madrid with 30 points still to play for.

Defence breaks down in the 18th minute

Barça began the game with all the possession, moves and pressure, with Malaga on the defence from the outset. Few teams survive Nou Camp playing that way. Iniesta and Henry looked threatening but Malagas defensive block wasnt broken down till the 18th minute when Etoo and Xavi swapped roles with Etoo setting up the first Barça goal for Xavi, who had scored twice in La Rosaleda back in November.

Messi gets a scorcher

Being one down, Malaga should have turned up the pressure, but instead it was Barça who carried on going for goal. Messi got the second after a brilliant individual move down the right where he left Nacho and Hélder Rosario on the floor before beating Goitía with an amazing right-footed shot. Immediately after the celebrations, Touré, obviously in pain, was substituted by Keita.

Xavi lays on the Goals

Barça had the taste for more goals in their mouths, just as they had against Atlético, Almería and Valladolid. Xavi now played the role of facilitator, first setting up Henrys goal (where he beat Goitia in a one-on-one in the 31st minute), then setting up Etoos first in the 42nd minute.
Xavi laid them on, the strikers scored and the fans were happy, and then a beautiful first half came to an end.

Show-time

Barças one-man-show resumed after half-time, and in the 50th minute an unmarked Alves headed home a pass from Iniesta. The fans went mad, but the show still wasnt over. Six minutes later Henry set Etoo up in the six-yard box, and the Cameroon player didnt fail to deliver. Amazing! Later on in the half, an injured Iniesta was substituted by Gudjohnsen, and the youngster Bojan came on for Xavi. Then the show was over.

I was thinking of team goals such as team bonding or consistent serving. For individual goals, I was thinking of better backhands, more powerful volleys, etc. Please help!

The best Goals are those you can accomplish regardless of outside circumstances. My experience is that it is somekind of improvement. For individual, go through the things you’d most like to improve on. Backhands, volleys are both very good goals. I also think more accurate or stronger serves are also good goals. It really varies on the individuals. For a season it can also be good to realistically look at how you compare to the league and set a goal for how you want to do in a league. This can be anywhere from winning the league if you truly believe this is accomplishable or maybe winning at least a set in each match if it is real strong competition. Just make it something achievable but that will also stretch you and motivate you.

The same also works for the team. Measure where they are, what they are capable of and what they can improve on most. Both ideas of team goals you listed make for good goals to work toward together as a team. Just make sure the entire team is willing to work toward those.

Linus Omark scored one of the most innovative shootout Goals you’ll ever see in a friendly exhibition game against Switzerland. In case you are wondering, the Edmonton Oilers drafted Linus Omark in the 4th round of the 2007 NHL entry draft. Omark currently plays for Lulea HF, in the Swedish Elite League. Linus Omark looks to be the latest in a long line of Swedish superstars.
