If everyone pretty much knows that one of the most powerful ways to achieve anything worthwhile is to set goals, then why do so few people do it?
And why do so few that set goals STILL not achieve them? I believe some of the reasons are that they:
- Set Goals that are too hard.
- Set goals that are too easy.
- They are too lazy (yep I said it.)
- Their goals don’t inspire them.
- Their goals are really not their own.
- They don’t really want the goal.
I’ll get into those thoughts in later posts. But for now, I wanted to invite you on a 100 Day Journey. One in which you get to ride along with me as I take on a 100 Day Challenge.
A challenge where I take on Five Goals over the next 100 Days under the guidance of Gary Ryan Blair.
You’ll get to experience what I experience. Feel what I feel. Feel what others doing the challenge feel. And, more importantly, feel what you feel.
Setting and achieving goals is NOT easy. If they were everyone would be doing it. In fact, one of the main reasons people don’t achieve the things they say they want is that it is easier NOT to do it. And, unfortunately, our society is more focused on being “comfortable” than having what they say they want.
Throughout this Blog, I will post MY thoughts, feelings, emotions and down right attitude about things in the world.
Some of you will not like what I have to say. So what? I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to make a difference. I invite you to comment responsibly on any of my posts.
With that… Let’s start our Journey!

Starting In september…I started a running regimen in order to try to lose weight…Starting running 2 miles a day roughly….Recently I picked up the pace…for the past month or so….been running 2 miles and 3 miles every other day….Also this past month….been participating in an indoor soccer league as well as a pedometer challenge….meaning…Im walking close to 13 miles on top of my daily run of 2-3 miles (30,000 or steps on average a day)….8 days ago…I got my first case of shin splints…lower shin….Very difficult to walk….been R.I.C.E…..left shin is about 95% after a week of this treatment….Right shin is maybe 60%….causes me to limp to walk….What are your recommendations…I am now forced to move to a swimming exercise regimen….How long will it take to improve? I’m seeing my doctor in 8 days over the holiday break. Im 29, have lost 25 lbs…in pretty good shape..I will be getting new sneakers as well. Please tell me I can have my old regimen back soon?
OUCH HUN, I used to get these myself running 8 miles a day (that wench-LOL) for cross country in H.S. although it is over 25 yrs ago i remember them well! and she still made us run no matter what!
One thing you can do is strap them like you do when you hurt your ankle and then when you are done running – soak in hot water and then ice them– heat will relax and then ice will bring down the swelling. This is what i remember doing. We used this Orange stuff that almost smelled like ben-gay, but damn was it good- I believe any sport store will have it! The main thing you need to do tho is rest and elevate . the AIRCASTS that they use for sprained ankles are another idea, because you can control the comfort level and it eliminates the tightness of ace bandages. although sometimes when i had them taped – that felt the best- the tighter it was…
REST dont quit, and I did pool therapy, i would walk in the water. to still get my exercise, and help them heal. ONE thing you gotta remember is that you are 1/3 your body weight in the water and it is very easy to over due. So why dont you try doing some light stretches in the water and swimming -its still aerobic but do not do any JUMPING! SOMETHING THAT REALLY FEELS GOOD IS CALLED BIOFREEZE- IT DOES CRYOTHERAPY(and as you know you want to CRY -lol) just means it is a cold treatment…
IT IS PAIN RELIEVING GEL THAT GOES ON COLD AND SOOTHES , CAN GET IT AT MEDICAL SUPPLY OR PHYSICAL THERAPIST MOST OFTEN.
I HAVE EVEN SEEN IT ON EBAY -REAL INEXPENSIVE!
PHYSICAL THERAPY, THEY HAVE MENS UNITS OR TENS UNITS, THE MENS (is faster and helps with healing) the TENS(helps with pain) and maybe the dr will prescribe one of them, it would be worth a couple of sessions with all you are doing
OH well, my physical condition has a lot to be desired at the moment, I ended up with back surgery, and complications, amd I just had 2 spinal column stimulators implanted to help with pain and LOVE IT!!

“I’m asking for all of them to identify at least $100 million in additional cuts to their administrative budgets, separate and apart from the work that [Office of Management and Budget Director] Peter Orszag and the rest of our team are doing, to go line by line with the budget and identify programmatic cuts that need to be made,” the President said at his first cabinet meeting on April 20.
In a background document released that day, the White House said the president “will challenge his cabinet to cut a collective 100 million dollars in the next 90 days. Agencies will be required to report back with their savings at the end of 90 days.”
Technically the 90 days were up on Sunday. But Monday [July 20] was the first business day for government agencies since the deadline. As of midday Monday, the White House had not announced any additional administrative spending cuts.
I guess they couldn’t find any waste in government.
He did stop all legal action against ACORN. That might have saved a little.
today they passed a bill allocating 770 million for wild horse population control. My dead cat could cut billions from the fed budget.
